Yub Raj Rai

Family Liason Coordinator

Community is important and I continue to support and assist people I spent much time within the camp that have now immigrated to Australia.

In 1992 the Royal Government of Bhutan had evicted many people, including me and my family. We stayed for 30 years at the eastern part of Nepal (Bhutanese Refugee Camp (BRC)) and resettled in Australia in December 2022.

While in Nepal, in 2010 I was elected community leader and did social work through FANS CLUB, BRC.

During my time in the camp, I ran with others, a Running Free Computer Operating Course, free education to orphans of Bhutanese Refugee Community as well as to the orphaned children of the host community at Green Way Educational Academy (Mission School) at Damask, Jhapa Nepal.

I also worked with disabilities upliftment and steel running at the Bhutanese Refugee Camp, Nepal.

I love to relax out on the football field.

National Care Society is an organisation that has given me an opportunity to work with people with disabilities part of the multi-cultural community of Australia and it feels as like my home.

I got a chance to learn more about the rights of differently able people of Australia.
