The annual Expo is organised by the Cairns Disability Network (CDN) and started over 15 years ago as a means of helping children with disabilities get into the job market.
Humble beginnings lead to the CDN leading the way to being Cairns’ biggest resource in the disability space.
National Care Society was excited to be part of the Cairns Disability Network Expo this year and we were joined by such a diverse mix of services which provided a valuable opportunity for the community and other service providers to connect to a range of NDIS and non-NDIS services.
Walking in and amongst the rows and rows of stalls (this year was the biggest turn out of approximately 120 providers!) made us proud to be part of such a strong community working together for the common goal of supporting those with a disability. It was amazing to talk to so many people at our stall and being able to assist with their struggles and frustrations. We received a lot of appreciation not only towards ourselves but also to the CDN.
It was marvellous to reconnect with friends, make new connections and welcome the newcomers in this amazing industry.
Choice and Control has never looked so good!
